Project : Wintercircus, Ghent
Our collaboration with OYO Architects we have transformed the Wintercircus building, a former circus and garage, into a technology and cultural hub. With 4830 m² of floor space and over 230 desks, the project is an excellent example of adaptive reuse, merging history with modern innovation to create a new landmark for this city.
The iconic Wintercircus in Ghent, a space designed to nurture innovation and provide a stage for visionary minds to excel, serves as the perfect backdrop for our WoodSaver® technology to leave a meaningful and lasting mark.
At Bulo and Bosq, we are proud to support Wintercircus’ forward-thinking mission, seamlessly integrating cutting-edge technology with a deep commitment to sustainability. Our meticulously crafted bureau desks, featuring the pioneering WoodSaver® veneer by Bosq, embody this philosophy by transforming discarded wood fibers into high-quality, durable surfaces. By repurposing what was once considered waste, we demonstrate that sustainability and innovation can go hand in hand, redefining the future of responsible design.
With this innovative veneer we’re the global winner of the SBID® – Society of British & International Interior Design Award in the Surfaces & Finishes category with our circular innovation WoodSaver®. This technology, developed by Bulo & Bosq, represents a breakthrough in sustainable woodwork. While finger-joint connections have been standard in solid wood, WoodSaver® takes it further, utilizing short veneer remnants that would otherwise become waste. Through a unique production method, we repurpose up to 80% of these high-quality pieces into valuable materials, making WoodSaver® truly one-of-a-kind for circular and sustainable design.
